Nechung's kitchen

Here is Nechung monastery's kitchen and the kitchen's care taker, a very nice gentlemen who allow me to take a photo of him.

Nechung monastery sits not far fromDrepund, it is a very interesting and in fact an important monastery. The monastery is the seat of the state oracle of Tibet. In the past, many important decisions of the state followed this reincarnated oracle's advise through ritual. M.... A little bit similar to what we see in the the Matrix movie.

来来来..跳跳舞..唱唱歌...盖房子

喜欢传统建筑其中的一个原因是常常发现当中是充满人情味的
六月中来到萨迦寺
这些藏人在维修佛殿的天面防水层(天台/屋顶)
用的是传统做法,每人拿着一支棍
在棍的底部绑了块平滑的石头
做法是原地踏步的把石头拷打还湿湿地面(混了石灰粉和一种特别的泥土)
让地面变得坚实
当水份完全蒸发以后
表层就会边得光滑,还能防水,颜色也很好看
这个过程
因为不用机器,所以需要大量的人一起做
所需要的时间也比较长
但是如果见过这些工程的朋友
都会知道那其实是很赏心悦目的场面
当他们重复着我们觉得刻板的工序的时后
他们是一起唱着歌的
人多的还会对唱
首先这边厢的几十个人一边压,
前后左右来回一两三四来回踏步
一边唱了好几句
然后停下
跟着隔壁另一边厢的几十个人便会开始一边压, 来回踏步以及一边回应般的对唱
他们还有简单的步伐,方向,节奏,简直是一种集体舞蹈!
不只好听,更是好看
让工作和歌唱两者融合在一起
我和老师看到了很感动
赶快爬下去想加入他们
我还在爬楼梯时
老师早已经钻进人群中参加他们的工作
但是就我刚下到那个平台
就被那个穿军服的管工
用对讲机叫他那几个副管工把我们俩赶下来
真的没人情讲
感觉当然有点...扫庆… 扁嘴
没办法…但是还好吧

这也让我记起喜欢"我的父亲母亲"这个电影的原因
里面也有一村人一起盖房子,一起吃饭的场面
这里是一起干活,一起唱歌
累也是愉快般的累

这里是Jonang Puntsokling,在山顶上的是废墟
This monastery is called Jonang Puntsokling, and this part on the top of the hill remains as ruin.

grassland school project update

This is an on-going school building project starting summer 2006 in a grassland area of Choni county 卓尼县, Amdo Tibet, which is 3-4 hours drive from my research project site, Labrang monastery.
